# Quick Browser Access to MT5 Reports
## 🌐 Direct File Access (No Export Needed!)
You can view MT5 HTML reports **directly in your browser** using the file:// protocol.
### URL Format
```
file:///home/garfield/mt5-docker/config/.wine/drive_c/users/abc/Desktop/ReportHistory-104125640.html
```
### How to Use
1. Open any web browser (Firefox, Chrome, etc.)
2. Copy the file path above
3. Paste in the address bar and press Enter
4. The report displays immediately!
### Why This Works
- MT5 saves reports to: `C:\users\abc\Desktop\` (in Wine)
- This maps to: `~/mt5-docker/config/.wine/drive_c/users/abc/Desktop/`
- Browsers can read local files via `file://` protocol
- No need to export, copy, or use utilities!
### Report Locations
| Type | Path | Access |
|------|------|--------|
| HTML Report | `~/mt5-docker/config/.wine/drive_c/users/abc/Desktop/ReportHistory-104125640.html` | `file:///home/garfield/.../ReportHistory-104125640.html` |
| Binary Data | `~/mt5-docker/config/.wine/drive_c/Program Files/MetaTrader 5/Bases/...` | Use `parse-deals.py` |
| Live Terminal | MT5 Window | Direct view |
### Important Notes
⚠️ **HTML Report Date**: The ReportHistory file is from **March 15** (3.07% profit)
✅ **Live Data**: Current terminal shows **$6,935 / 6.94%** (March 21)
For live/current data:
- View MT5 terminal directly, OR
- Use `./create-live-report.sh 6935.12 106935.12 45`
---
## Alternative: Export Utilities
If you need to:
- View in terminal (no GUI): `./show-latest-report.sh`
- Export to clean HTML: `./export-to-browser.sh`
- Create from live data: `./create-live-report.sh`
See `UTILS.md` for details.
